Rent is the one bill you can't dodge. Here's what each starting home costs, how the Saturday bill works and when it's worth moving up.

These figures are player-reported, not official. The game is patched often, so treat them as a starting point.

Two addresses sit above these: the Ikoyi duplex and the Banana Island mansion. You can't rent or buy either. Players report the only way in is for someone who already lives there to bring you in.

How the Saturday bill works

  • Rent is due every Saturday. The game shows "Due in 2 days" style countdowns, so you get a warning.
  • It's one bill. Rent sits at the top, followed by staff wages and upkeep on anything big you own, like land.
  • Missed rent doesn't vanish. It piles up as arrears. Players report that if you fall too far behind, the game moves you to the cheapest home and clears what you owed. You keep playing, but you lose your address.
  • Every home is a separate rent. If you keep a place in Lagos and another in Abuja, you pay both. See our Abuja and Port Harcourt guide.

Moving up

  • Your furniture comes with you. Moving only changes the neighbourhood and the weekly rent.
  • Better homes want cash up front. Higher tiers ask for money in hand on moving day, on top of the rent.
  • The new rent starts the following Saturday.
  • You can't move while living at someone else's place. Move out there first.

Is a better home worth it?

A better area puts you closer to well-paid work and the venues that refill fun and social, so you spend less on cabs and arrive at shifts in better shape. It also lets you host more guests. But rent comes out every single week, whether you had a good week or not.

A simple rule: move up once your business income covers the new rent by itself. Then your salary is still yours. Try your numbers in our money calculator first.

Sharing rent

Married players can live together and split the Saturday bill, and each keeps their own key. More in our dating and marriage guide.
