How closeness works

Every pair of players shares one hidden score. Each thing you do together raises or lowers it. Hit 30 and the game calls the other person your padi. Private messages only open once the game counts you as having met.

What each action does

ActionCloseness neededEffect
Say helloAny (only offered up to 10)+6
Crack a joke0+10, or -5 if it falls flat
Hype them up5+9
Gist-20+7
Talk about life25+12
Flirt30+12, or -8 if refused
Hang out30+14
Hug40+8, or -4 if refused
Ask for small money50-12
Throw shadeAny-15

These figures are player-reported, not official. The game is patched often, so treat them as a starting point.

Two things stand out. Flirting only lands about half the time, so build closeness with hangouts and real conversation first. And asking for money always hurts, even with someone close to you.

Getting engaged

Once your bond is high enough, you can propose. Buying the ring completes the proposal. Ring prices aren't published, so check the price in the game and save up first. Players often say you need about three days of dating first, but the game hasn't confirmed it.

The wedding

Weddings are an owambe. They fill fun and social, feed you and give you a "Wedding Royalty" mood boost, though they're tiring. Invite your friends who are online. If the governor's Owambe Season policy is on that week, the fun hits even harder.

Married life

  • Move in together. No more knocking, and you share the kitchen, bed and shower.
  • Split the rent. Both of you can pay towards the Saturday bill, and each keeps a key. See homes and rent.
  • Kids are reported, not confirmed. Community guides talk about up to three children per household, each adding to the weekly bill.

Stay safe

These are real strangers. Keep personal details private, and never send real money to someone you met in the game. Blocking is silent, and reporting a chat sends recent messages to the Lagos Life team. More in our scams and safety guide.
